Holistic relationship based Counseling for Sustainable Well-Being

Placeholder

A Focused Approach to Holistic Healing In a field often defined by clinical coldness, I offer a different experience: a "laid-back yet focused" environment where authenticity is the priority. I believe therapy is most effective when it feels like a partnership—combining a relaxed, relational atmosphere with the intentionality required for measurable growth. My work is grounded in the belief that true wellness integrates the Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Specialized Care for Life’s Critical Transitions I specialize in supporting individuals through the formative years and the complex shifts of adulthood. My practice is centered on:

  • Focused Expertise: Ages 7–35 & Beyond: Helping children, adolescents, and young adults navigate everything from social development to the "quarter-life" search for identity.

  • Modern Manhood & Early Parenting: Guiding men through the "identity shock" of new fatherhood and the pursuit of Biblical masculinity in a high-pressure world.

  • Recovery & Resilience: Leveraging my expertise as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) to help clients find freedom from addiction and spiritual trauma.

Professional Partnership I am proud to practice as an Associate at Desert Streams Christian Counseling, PC. Working alongside this established team allows me to provide my clients with a high standard of professional care within a community dedicated to faith-integrated clinical excellence.

Whether you are navigating the hurdles of adolescence or the weight of new family responsibilities, my goal is to equip you with the sustainable tools needed to live a resilient, purpose-driven life.

Beyond the Office

Colby Laperriere MA, LPC, CAADC, NCC

I believe that a balanced life is a healthy life, and I strive to practice the same holistic wellness I encourage in my clients. When I’m not in the therapy room, you can usually find me leaning into the things that recharge my soul:

  • Faith as my Anchor: Above all, my relationship with God is where I find true reprieve and peace. My faith isn’t just a professional framework; it is my personal sanctuary—the quiet center that allows me to show up fully for my family and my clients.

  • Restoration in Nature: I’m most at home under the open sky. Whether I’m camping, sitting by a slow-burning bonfire, or tubing down the river, I find a unique kind of restoration in the rhythm of the outdoors. Kayaking and breathing in the fresh Michigan air are how I decompress, recalibrate, and stay grounded.

  • Family First: As a father and husband, my family is my greatest joy. They are my primary motivation for helping other men and parents navigate the 'identity shock' of early parenting and the transitions of family life.

  • Reconnection & Play: I’m a firm believer in the power of play. I’m a fan of a well-played board game and a good book—both of which offer a necessary shift in perspective and a way to stay curious.

By bringing my whole self to this work, I hope to encourage you to do the same.
